Stand Up Comedy at Rye Community Centre
Rich Wilson - Headliner
Rich Wilson has loved comedy ever since his older next door neighbour gave him a cassette of Eddie Murphy-Delirious.“It was the most mind blowing thing I’d ever heard. My young ears had never heard language like it.”
His comedy aspirations lay dormant until he got a job as a barman at a comedy club in Greenwich,South London, called Up The Creek.
“It was the most amazing job ever.I was in awe of the comics that appeared every weekend.”
After getting friendly with a few of the comics,a couple of them suggested that he should give comedy a go himself and so in October of 2004, Rich took his first tentative steps out onto the comedy circuit. “I was booked to do five minutes and I managed about two and a half before I legged it. I’ve never known fear like it.”
Since then Rich hasn’t looked back. He is a regular at all the major comedy clubs up and down the country including Jongleurs,The Comedy Cafe and The Big Night Out. With Rich Wilson you are guaranteed a fantastic evening of top class entertainment.

Headliner – Raymond and Mr Timpkins
They simply have to be seen to be believed! They are the without a doubt the maddest, silliest, stupidest, cleverest, strangest and everything else-ist as well as the funniest double act of comedians on the circuit.
"Knockabout duo - really out there!" - The Guardian
"Enough silliness to fill a pillow" - Evening Standard
Support – Pierre Hollins
His relaxed amiability is defined by a compelling conversational style and absurd guitar posturing. His ‘songs’ are jokes that rhyme, set to a guitar backbeat, never travelling down the easy route of song parodies. He covers topics from love and hate, to sex and politics with a totally original voice, delivering his material with charm and irrelevance.
‘An unsung hero of new comedy. Don’t miss this true professional at work. Bloody funny.’ - TIME OUT
Compere – Luke Benson
The Geordie giant is an incredibly talented stand-up making waves on the circuit as a superb act and MC. Luke’s been performing stand up since 2007 and has been a finalist in the Hackney Empire, Amused Moose, Leicester Square Theatre and Mirth Control competitions. He was also nominated for this year’s Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year Award.
“One of the most instantly likeable personalities on the line-up. His punch-lines hit the targets... even more impressive was how he found a clear voice whatever style or subject of comedy he tackled.” The Stage

Otiz Cannelloni - Headliner
In a world where every comedian claims or strives to be unique, Otiz Cannelloni is just that – and not only because of that questionable name.
Billed a reluctant messiah and man of the people, with an O-level in woodwork, Otiz Cannelloni is probably best summed up as a mix of a crazy entertainer meeting an even madder messed-up magician, Otiz’s act defies description and beggars belief – and audiences can’t get enough of it. Neither can his peers. Otiz is loved and revered in the business as “a comics’ comic”, and wherever he performs, his usually cynical fellow comedians can be caught at the rear of the room, spellbound by his lunacy and laughing manically and with a jealous yet appreciative glint in their eye.
Like Tommy Cooper before him, Otiz combines the illusion of magic and the reality of stand up to produce a hybrid variety that shifts effortlessly between the three pillars of sheer genius, outright lunacy and utter stupidity. Just as you begin to suspect Otiz doesn’t have a clue what he is doing on stage, he proves it for you beyond all doubt. But then it has taken him years of practice to make something so utterly straight-forward look quite so difficult.
“Sheer hilarity that no one wanted to see end.” The Stage

“He’s gonna be a star” – William Burdett-Coutts (Producer of Black Books / Artistic Director of Assembly Theatre)
Matt Richardson - Compere
Matt arrived onto the comedy scene in early 2010 and within six months had reached the finals of So You Think You’re Funny and the Chortle Student Comedy Award . He quickly established himself as one of the most promising acts on the comedy circuit, winning numerous awards and performing around the country as both an act and MC, all while still a 19.
“Full of verve and energy …quirky asides brought sparkle to his act…undeniably well-told.” – Chortle
